About the Event

Most of you know Paul Gibbons, a Madison grad who made his career in Europe before returning here and becoming a full time author.  For those who don't know, his two books on change are top-five on Amazon and he is ranked top-20 in organizational culture globally by the Global Gurus tracking site.

His new book The Spirituality of Work and Leadership is #1 on workplace spirituality and spirituality and leadership on Amazon. In it, he talks about spirituality of all kinds, from mysticism, to New Age, to traditional religion and to humanism, reach deeply into the human experience at work.  From the book...

"... spirituality touches on every aspect of the human experience at work, on every aspect of human capital, and on the purpose of business and the capitalist economic system. The book explores how we can recruit spiritual ideas to help humans find greater meaning and purpose in their work and to improve business practices – that is, to make business more human."

"Perhaps you think that business “all ‘bout the Benjamins.” 3 True – that is society’s current paradigm, but the business paradigm was not handed to humans on tablets of stone. We designed it, and we

can change it. This is a truth worth remembering – the systems humans make, we can change; the systems we break,  we can fix.  As citizens, workers, and business leaders, we have the power

to reshape the culture of business and the laws that enable it – but we must do so in a principled way. And from where, we should ask, might those principles come from?"
